Report: EU court dismisses N Stream 2 claim against gas directive
MOSCOW, May 20 (PRIME) -- The general jurisdiction court of the European Union has dismissed a claim of Nord Stream-2 AG, the operator of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline from Russia, against the E.U. legislation concerning gas pipelines belonging to third states, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday.
In November 2019, Nord Stream-2 AG filed a lawsuit on partial cancellation of amendments to the E.U.’s gas directive.
The Nord Stream-2 project envisages construction of two lines of a natural gas pipeline with an annual capacity of up to 55 billion cubic meters, running from the Russian shore to Germany under the Baltic Sea. Russian gas giant Gazprom is implementing the project together with Germany’s E.ON and BASF, Royal Dutch Shell, Austria’s OMV, and France’s Engie.
